"The discussion about the art-society relationship led to two opposing philosophical attitudes: the one that states that art is only art if it is pure, that is, if it is not concerned with historical, social, economic and political circumstances. the defense of 'art for art'. The other states that the value of the work of art stems from its critical commitment in the face of present circumstances. It is 'engaged art', in which the artist takes a stand before his society, fighting to transform and improve it, and to make people aware of the injustices and oppressions of the present ".
